A community based employment program supporting
individuals as they choose career paths, participate in work,
and develop entrepreneurial opportunities.

• VRS program receives referrals
from the Department of Rehabilitation Services - Workforce
Center and is designed for individuals 18 years of age and
older, who have disabilities, meet eligibility criteria for
Rehabilitation Services and seek employment/career options
based on individual interests, strengths, and needs. These
individuals participate in developing their employment outcome
plans. They receive education and hands on experience in job
seeking skills. They are encouraged to participate in job
skill training groups offered by the agency. Funding for these
individuals is short term. A long term funding plan is developed
for those needing more support if extended funding is available.
Services available for VRS referrals include Situational Assessments,
Job Shadowing, Job Seeking Skills, and Job Placement. |
| • Work by Design program Supported
Employment - provides job-site support to individuals 18 years
of age and older. Through Supported Employment consumers receive
individualized assessment of their work skills and assistive
technology needs, job development and placement services,
and ongoing consistent support at their jobs by an employment
specialist. Skills which are taught include: job skills, life
skills necessary for successful employment and career advancement,
transportation (to and from work), and building professional
relationships with co-workers and supervisors. Individuals
are referred through county case management, Division of Rehabilitation
Services, or are self-referred. Individuals with a CADI, TBI,
or MR-DD waiver qualify for services. |

• Harbor View Ticket To Work (TTW)
provides vocational support services (job and life skill mentoring,
job development, job placement and follow up services) to Social
Security SSDI recipients eligible under the Social Security program
called Ticket to Work.
